How to Lead in a Crisis

I recently listened to this short (under 4 min), but powerful podcast from Leadership Expert. Amy C. Bunson. For full episode click here.

She, says that leaders who are confident, secure, strong, and constant are attractive. But, in times of crisis it is important that we flip the script, especially if we are the leader that others are following.

Her four points are: 1. Be transparent. 2. Act with urgency. 3. Follow your values. 4. Share Power.

We are all leaders in our own sphere of influence. If you are in the middle of a real crisis, pandemic, catastrophe, natural disaster, or just a season full of unknowns it is your job as a leader to create a safe and trusted environment. There are going to be people on your team, your friends, or your family that are going to look to your for guidance and direction. Remember, you don't have to have all the answers. You don't have to know the exact right thing to do. You are the leader and it is your responsibility to guide those that are looking to you for direction. Whether you are a mom, dad, CEO, business leader, or entrepreneur remember you set the tone for how others respond to said crisis. These four points from Amy can help us all.
